In this regard, the race in Frankfurt is just awesome: the best "Age-Grouper" start with the pros, so that in each group forming a motorcycle mitfährt with referees. I knew immediately what that means: This is the beginning of iliotibial band syndrome or short - a "Runners Knee". When KM was 24 then my "Queen of Hearts" on the road and as a sports physiotherapist, she knew immediately what to do: Trigger-point massage of the outer fascia (iliotibial band). This worked very well, but unfortunately only 3 km then the pain was back again! But Luca was there (at the edge of the track) so I laid me down with him, he briefly explained the massage technique and allowed me to knead it. 2km later repeated this procedure and the beginning of the 3rd Run round (KM31), I was again with my KGB supporters (Karin, Gabi, beat) you had in the meantime Kinesio Tape organized (Dear Beat, Thanks for the sprint to the hotel) and I missed it a relief association. But unfortunately I had a further 2 km march again because the pain was too great. At that moment I declared the race for me, "finished" as Hawaii and deleted 2010th Close to tears one last time then I passed my KGB supporters and told them that I would walk the remaining 7.5 km now. Shortly after, I looked at the clock, 15.40 clock - the stopwatch I had already turned off the latest - and I realized I had another 35 minutes to finishing in 9:30 '. Last year was the last slot with 9:26 gone '. As the conditions in this year, but harder (swimming without Neo, 5km long bike course, great heat when running), I figured that I would be 9:30 'rich well too.

After the race, the greater was the surprise then that I had managed to rank 16, the direct qualification Hawaii! The joy for me and my tutors was of course huge. You heard me - massaged to Hawaii - in the preserved sense of the word! MERCI!!
